Chief Stephen Mills (Fmr.)

Stephen Mills started his law enforcement career in 1986 as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. In 1997, he was accepted into the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Program (C.I.D.) as a Special Agent.

Sgt. Steven Shank (Ret.)

A native of Detroit, Sgt. Steven Shank was drawn to policing through a desire to have a positive impact in his community. Shank serves as one of twenty Neighborhood Police Officers in the Detroit Police Department who are tasked with targeting specific issues within each of the twelve precincts of Detroit.

Sergeant John Padgett (Fmr.)

John Padgett began his policing career as a patrol officer with the City of Augusta, which later became the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department, in 1984. He served until 1997 and left the force as a sergeant.

Sergeant Cheryl Dorsey (Ret.)

Cheryl Dorsey began her law enforcement career in 1980 with the Los Angeles Police Department as a patrol officer. During the course of her 20 year career, she served in the South, Central, West, and Valley Bureaus within the City of Los Angeles and became a sergeant.

Chief Judge Kevin Sharp (Fmr.)

Kevin Sharp began his career as a Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy in 1982. He served for four years before attending university, and later, law school. Sharp was an attorney in the Office of Compliance of the U.S. Congress from 1996 to 1997.

Det. Sergeant Neil Woods (Fmr.)

Neil Woods served with the Derbyshire Constabulary for 23 years as a Detective and Detective Sergeant. Chief Todd Radford

Chief Todd Radford began his 30-year law enforcement career with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office in 1987, where he worked patrol, investigations, and field training assignments. He also served as a SWAT team member and training academy instructor.

J. Tom Morgan, District Attorney (Fmr.)

J. Tom Morgan spent more than 20 years as a prosecutor in DeKalb County, Georgia, including twelve years as District Attorney. He began as an assistant District Attorney, focusing on crimes against children, and prosecuted more than 500 cases involving children who had been abused or murdered.

Chief Mark Spawn (Ret.)

Mark Spawn served 24 years in the Fulton, NY Police Department, first as a detective and then for twelve years as Chief of Police. Spawn’s tenure as Chief was marked by an enhanced sex offense investigations, new community policing initiatives, and increased transparency.

Chiraag Bains, Senior Counsel (Fmr.)

Chiraag Bains is a former federal prosecutor with the Department of Justice’s Office of the Assistant Attorney General. From 2014 to 2017, as Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General, Bains helped lead the work on criminal justice reform; investigating constitutional policing; solitary confinement cases; fine, fee, and bail practices; and homelessness.

Tom Parker, Assistant Special Agent (Ret.)

Jake Lilly, Deputy District Attorney (Fmr.)

Lieutenant Tom Barham (Fmr.)

Preston Shipp, Assistant Attorney General (Fmr.)

Preston Shipp served as an appellate prosecutor for the Tennessee Attorney General’s office. As an Assistant Attorney General, Shipp represented the State in hundreds of cases in state and federal courts against defendants convicted of crimes such as murder, rape, drug trafficking, robbery, burglary and theft.

Detective Justin Boardman (Fmr.)

Justin Boardman served in the West Valley City Police Department for 15 years, rising from patrol officer to detective with the Special Victims Unit. In his eight years as a patrol officer, he was awarded the Police Star, as well as multiple Life Saving, Distinguished Service, and Meritorious Service Awards.

Tim Heaphy, U.S. Attorney (Fmr.)

Tim Heaphy served as United States Attorney for the Western District of Virginia from 2009 to 2015. As U.S. Attorney, Heaphy was responsible for prosecuting federal crime in areas such as national security, financial and health care fraud, international and national organized crime, public corruption, and money laundering.

Officer Karen Hawkes (Ret.)
